Unfortunately we are unable to guarantee a specific vehicle model or colour. What we can guarantee however is that when you reserve a vehicle in Mauritius, you will receive the same category of vehicle as in your booking.

If for whatever reason the category of vehicle that you requested is unavailable, we will ensure that another category is made available to you.

You are required to be between the ages of 21 and 75 years old and in possession of an unendorsed drivers’ license for a minimum of two years to hire a car. The same applies to foreigners with International Drivers’ Licenses.

Car rental rates fluctuate based on the chosen vehicle category. The supplementary waiver coverage can range from MUR 350 to 700 per day, contingent upon your vehicle choice. Furthermore, the rental deposit amount differs by category, but it is a mandatory requirement for all car rentals, unless you opt for comprehensive insurance coverage.

When you book a car online through MyCar Rental, seasonality dependent, we may request a deposit of up to 100% of the rental fee. This practice ensures meticulous planning on our part and provides you with the assurance that your vehicle reservation is firmly secured in your name. Any additional extras you select when collecting and/ or receiving your vehicle will be added to your final bill at that time.

In the unfortunate event of an accident in your hired car, follow the below steps:

1. Remain calm and call for assistance for any injured persons. Do not leave the scene of the accident.
2. Do not admit liability.
3. Take down all details for other parties / driver(s) / witnesses involved:
   Name, Identification number, Vehicle registration number, Insurance details and contact details.
4. Notify a MyCar Rental representative immediately. You can do so by calling our national number +230 5989 6001
5. Do not allow the vehicle to be towed away unless it is by somebody authorised to do so by MyCar Rental.
6. Report the accident to the Mauritius Police Service. Please note that you will be required to obtain the incident OB Number for insurance purposes.
7. Complete and submit all related paperwork to a MyCar Rental representative, including full details of the accident, pictures and the above documents to be filed within the insurance documents when returning to a MyCar Rental branch or when a replacement vehicle is provided.

Driver’s license is required on all vehicle rentals. International driver’s licenses will be accepted as long as the holder is over the age of 21 and has had a valid unendorsed license for a minimum of 2 years.

As car hire and flight bookings are closely linked, we ask that you provide us with your flight number so that we are aware of and up to date with your flight’s arrival time and any delays which may occur. In the event of a delay in your flight, we then know to keep your reservation until the delayed time, and will not cancel the reservation due to a “no show”.
